 When a was begin to studing ingeniería forestal, revise the curriculum map, see that many subject that I don´t was interest, but also many that I was interest very much.If I think about how the study program could be improved, the first thing I think about is that you should be able to choose specialties. A forest engineer should handle several areas of knowledge, everything related to the forest industry, but a large part of the students is inclined towards ecology and botany, which is a completely different area from the forest industry, ecology and botany are oriented more to scientific research, the forest industry is related to the economic area. I believe that every forestry engineer should handle information from both parties, but the curriculum has many specialized branches in both and during the same semesters.   My vision of the travel in to the future is very influenced for films, I imagine a apocalyptic future in wich natural resources would be sold out and   the human race would be almost extinct , or a future where the robots dominate´s the world, but in reallity I only like to see that idea in the movies. The future I would like to be is one where the tecnology would be so advanced that everyone could travel through the galaxy and live in other planets. The most entertainig idea would be that the rest of the planets would also be inhabited for advanced civilitation in order to meet them, exchange   knowledge and resources . In my future trave I also imagine the existence of planets dominated for plants, where not exist animal live , l would like to study that new species and describe them in detail. The ideal job for me would be anyone that allows me to travel and see many places in the world. I imagine myself living a couple of years in one country and then go to another, work outdoors, in the field. I really like manual work, I like to do things that require some physical work. I am currently studying forestry engineering, I do not even know in which area to specialize, perhaps I will do it in the area of ​​forest fires, it is a very interesting subject and with many things to investigate. I would like to work in research and be able to travel to different places

  As a child I had many "idols" or references and the reasons for my admiration are very diverse. Some of them are Saul Hudson (Slash) for his incredible talent with the guitar, Kim Bendix Petersen (King Diamond) for his rare and incredible voice and also his genius in composing music, he revolutionized heavy metal with his concept albums which tell horror stories.  Jorge Gonzales also comes to mind, who is undoubtedly another person that I would love to meet, his strong and direct lyrics still seem admirable to have been written in times of dictatorship.   When I was a child   the TV broadcasted many cartoons, but not many programs for children. Even so, I remember one which I  enden loving it, is probably the only one I whatched during my childhood, it is art attack,   it addresses basically to reuse the things of the hause, for example bottles, cardboard, and newspaper to make beautiful things for airplanes, pencil case, flowerpot stand and many others funny things. This program was hosted by the deceased Rui Torres,   it was broadcast on Saturday  mornings  after the cartoons , I liked it very much so I woke all the Saturday at 8 AM to wacth TV.   If someone asks me for a concert… definitely the best is   Slayer in 2017, at the “Movistar Arena”. Since I was a child I have liked rock music and metal. Slayer came to Chile on other occasions but I was too young and had   no one take me to the concert, and my parents didn`t like   that kind of music and  they hated that I listened to that kind of genre because they said it was satanic .  In 2017 when i was  18 years old olso or so I went alone, none of friends since I was not going to pay  for go to see them.   The country that I dream to visit   is Italy. When I was a child I dreamed to know   Venice, it caught my attention sailing in the boat to the canal, I dream to live like this someday. Also I watched many films about   Venice, the streets full of water looked beautiful in the movies , that increases the expectation to know the city. As the years go by  my expectation continues , even at my 22 years old. Futhermore, Italy is the home of Ferrari, when I was a child I dreamed of having one of their cars, even if with the passing of the years that idea disappeared, because they are really expensive and still if I could collect the money in order to buy a car, I would not buy it.  Hello again, this time I will talk about my experience doing these weekly blogs. Personally, I really enjoyed writing about the topics proposed by the professor, I found them interesting and entertaining. It helped me a lot to learn English, when I wrote each blog I learned new words, I learned to write many sentences and translate entire paragraphs without using a translator. He also learned to write sentences at the correct times. Commenting on the publications of my colleagues is also entertaining, it forces me to read their blogs while exercising my reading comprehension. One of the advantages is that some of the topics are related to the forest engineering career, this serves to exercise the technical vocabulary and use frequent words and sentences in academic texts. By writing these blogs I learned to read texts more fluently and my understanding improved a lot. Hello how are you? Today I will talk about the subject that I liked the most this semester. Its name is "silviculture and forest management". The classes are composed in blocks of approximately 45 minutes, where the teacher on duty explains to us first, general aspects of the type of forest that we will study and then explains the existing silvicultural methods recommended for it.  Broadly speaking, forestry is the (cutting) interventions carried out on a forest in order to increase its production, promote regeneration or simply keep the species present. The classes are carried out by 4 teachers, their names are; Antonio Vitas, Gustavo Cruz, Horacio Bown and Sergio Donoso. This photo was taken during a trip with friends in Pucon, it was during the week of the total aclipse in the Araucania region. I did this trip whith 2 friends from university, Francia  and Jair , as well as my brother and cousin from France named Leandro and Ignacio. We rent a cabin located approximately 3 kilometers from the take. This photo was taken by Ignacio one afternoon when we went to lake Caburgua, near Pucón. We were walking along the shore of the lake looking for a place to sit down to eat, then I saw a small sandy path over the water that went into the lake, I decided to walk on it to the point, it was there when I heard a cry from Ignacio, I It said "stay there", I stayedstill and I toook that picture. Then he showed it to me, I really liked the angle I take it so I uploaded it to Instagram. I was wearing a yellow rain coat at the time because it was a very rainy day and it was very cold.

 One of the places I have wanted to visit a long time is "Machu-pichu", if I have enough money I would like to do if next year. The idea was born during a conversation with friends, we all liked it and we plan to do it one day. The ideal would be to travel at least a month, in order to visit other nearby places. Personally my biggest motivation to go that place is its beauty. The idea is to travel backpacking north to Peru, but some members of the trip prefer to travel by plane there and start backpacking there. It is difficult to find a group of friends with whom you can travel, the most difficult thing is living together. I met the friends I plan to travel with in college, they are fellow students. In our career we are forced to live together for weeks on prantice trips, that is why we achieve good coexistence and we no longer have that type of problem.

I chose this career because I really like nature and I woul like to work in it. When I was a child I dreamed of being an air force soldier because I liked the idea of flying and I really liked airplanes, I didn´t like the of being a soldier, juts flying.  What made me decide for forestry engineering was the desire to understand ecosystems and all their components, I am also interested in being able to work within nature and not in n office.  University was a new world, I met many interesting people and made many friends, I miss going to university in person. I want to dedicate myself to the research of native plants because there is a lot of unknown information.

  Jonhi Baeza was born on December 29, 1998 in the city of Carahue. He studied in two schools, the Divino maestro school from first to fourth grade and at the Olga Navarro Sepulveda school from fifth to aighth grade. He attended high school at the Internado Nacional Barros Arana. In 2018 he began to study forestry engineering at the University of Chile. His hobbies are playing soccer, drawing and Reading manga. Jonhi lives with his family, he is the odest of 4 siblings, their names are; Camila , Ignacia and Nicolas.   He also lives with his two dogs, Lucas and Wilson. Jonhi really likes to go camping and climb hils in his spare time, he really likes to connect with nature.
